molende

(ongoing)

The question I asked myself is : How has Africa come to reject its homosexuality and trans identity ?
Through my work, i want to provoke discourse on those who are marginalized, and more specifically, LGBTIQ. I feel that making photo that show my personal experience as gay will help start the conversation on French African speaking LGBTIQ and get people to stop ignoring our existence.

View of Kinshasa (DRCongo) from the Corniche road
of Brazzaville (Congo)

At the beginning of the 20th century, it was the colonial exploitation of Central Africa that brought the AIDS virus back to Brazzaville and to Kinshasa, then called Leopoldville. And it is also previously the encounter between sub-Saharan populations and Europeans that has led to systemic racism, homophobia and transphobia.
